The palace, designed by the architects Giorgio Polli for the external part and Antonio Bruni for the interiors, owes its name to the client Filippo Artelli. It is made of sandstone on the facades of the ground floor and artificial stone on the upper levels. Palazzo Artelli was in a state of neglect. The difficulty of dealing with a material such as reinforced concrete was a challenge that we have taken up thanks to our previous working experiences on this kind of materials.
The intervention concerned securing the main facades and the conservative restoration of some of their elements. The sculptures, entirely made of artificial stone, have been cleaned, removing the consistent biological patina that covered them, and consolidated. Moreover, the inner reinforcement has been restored, new iron pins have been inserted and on the different elements consolidation and filling with suitable mortar mixes have been made.
